Tutorial on creating ringtones for iPhone
Hi guys,
Since Leena wanted to have her own personalized ringtone,
I shall provide the steps here...
Do follow it closely !
First thing first do locate your music files....
Once found the music files, duplicate said files and paste at the same folder, it's okay it will auto-rename itself so it won't overwrite your current music file.
Rename it as you see fit...
Now open up itunes and add the new duplicate file you have just created...
Right-click on the music file... go to get info (and wani this is where you go to manually add album artwork haha)
Now go to Options tab and edit the music as you see fit, some says max is 30sec but just to be on the safe side, I've created 15sec myself. It doesnt have to start from 0:00
After which click on Apply or OK or whatever, right click on the same file and Create AAC version
And another duplicate is created... You can now proceed to delete the 2nd duplicate so you should only have the original untouched and the 15sec version
Now allocate the file by right-clicking it and press Show in window Explorer.
Now on your window Explorer, make sure you're able to see file extensions, if not go to folder options and uncheck " Hide Extentions for known file types"
And you can now see it named as yourfiles.m4a , proceed to rename the files to yourfiles.m4r as follows,
You can undo the settings you changed earlier on if you're scared that you will mess up important files for the computer. So now go back to itunes and proceed to add files again and locate the file you've just renamed.
Now from itunes, it will not show up as music obviously, that's where this comes in. Press the "..." and click on tones, there you'll see the files you've just created.
Plug in your iPhone to you Lappy/ Computer and make sure you have checked "Manually Manage music and videos"
Once done simply drag and drop to you iphone and you're done.
I've encountered some trouble whereby the ringtone doesnt show on my iphone, in that case go to your iPhone tab on itunes then to tones. See the music files you've just transfered if it's greyed out, delete the music file and unplug-replug your iphone and retransfer and the music file, it shouldn't be greyed out and be in black font as per normal.
And I'm done. Thank you for reading and lastly I LOVE BBY MAL HAHAHAHA
